Anna and Tyron got married at St Grwsts Church in Llanrwst and had a mini-photoshoot with the famously scenic Tu Hwnt I’r Bont tearoom in the background. It’s great when a couple don’t want to miss a photo opportunity, so I do recommend knowing what’s nearby and seeing if it’s worth a little excursion.
After that it was an hour long drive back towards Chester to the reception venue, Soughton Hall in Northop. We made the journey fine but unfortunately, the wedding car actually broke down on the way so Anna and Tyron were delayed for a good half an hour or so! Luckily by the time they made it to the reception, the sun came out and we were able to get some lovely candids while people were mingling outside.
Soughton Hall is perhaps my favourite wedding venue in Wales. It has everything you need under one roof and certainly looks the part. It is a videographer and photographer’s playground, with plenty of options for different backgrounds and you don’t have far to walk at all.
Have a look at some of the highlights from Anna and Tyron’s wedding in the video below.
When Heledd asked me if I would make a short promotional film for her wedding photography business I did virtual cartwheels. I adore Heledd’s work and we collaborate a lot documenting weddings in North Wales and Cheshire so it only made perfect sense to produce her promotional video.
She organised a styled wedding photoshoot at the stunning Rivercatcher Cottages in Llandrillo, Corwen and brought together many well-established wedding suppliers from North Wales to style a dream wedding.
The backdrop of the Welsh mountains near the edge of the river is truly a breathtaking sight, so it was the perfect place for Heledd and Wedding Planner, Jade Leung, to suspend a cake from a swing! Hayley’s Piped Dreams crafted an elegant three-tiered cake along with some delicious goodies placed next to it. I’m always super excited when I see Hayley’s supplying the cake as I’ve never tasted a better wedding cake!

It was a wonderful experience filming Huw & Dilwen’s wedding at Capel Gellifor and Ruthin Farmers Auction House while Heledd Roberts photographed the wedding.
The theming was beautifully rustic to tie in with the couple’s agricultural background and we had a fun (but cold!) photoshoot at a lake near their farm with stunning views of North Wales.
This wedding will always stick in my memory because it was my first Welsh-speaking wedding. If only I could speak Welsh! The couple were very pleased with the highlights video and it had a good reception on social media.
