A short documentary about Lindy Martin, a ceramicist and beachcomber from Llansteffan. We follow her beachcombing and making one of her signature teapots. Finally, we chat about her dad who was a famous local photographer in Aberystwyth. The documentary was created while studying at Aberystwyth University for the Documentary Production module in our third year.
We filmed using a Nikon D5100 and Nikon D3100 with kit lenses. Aberystwyth University let us borrow a camera slider and a TASCAM audio recorder with a wireless tie-clip microphone to improve production quality.
The final film received 73% which is a First at University level and was screened at the Aberystwyth Arts Centre. It was also selected as part of The Eye: Ceramic Season exhibition which was shown in the foyer of the Arts Centre in a pod shaped like an eye.
An experimental project for my documentary module while studying Film and TV at Aberystwyth University. The challenge was that no shot could last longer than twelve frames, hence the jump cutting in the style of The Five Obstructions by Lars Von Trier and Jorgen Leth.
