I'm an award-winning filmmaker, photographer and designer from Chester with a unique creative flair. Being creative is my passion and I can be relied on to deliver bespoke, imaginative media for clients.
I've always enjoyed being creative from a very young age. I was home-schooled which allowed me to spend a great deal of time learning web/graphic design. I started with Jasc Paintshop Pro and upgraded to Adobe Photoshop CS when I was 11.
By the time I was 13 I had made three websites, one of which has received over 2 million hits. Shortly after my venture into webdesign, I bought a graphics tablet and began creating digital art on Photoshop of my favourite video game and anime characters after being inspired by my sister who is a successful 2D animator.
I was accepted onto the BTEC First Diploma in Media at Yale College based on my portfolio and progressed onto the BTEC National Diploma in Media with a Distinction*. College enabled me to develop my skills in filmmaking in addition to my other creative skills and helped me decide to study a degree in Film and TV.
In July 2011 I graduated from my BTEC National Diploma in Media Production course at Yale College, Wrexham with an overall grade of DDD (three A's at A-Level). I was awarded 23 Distinctions, two of which I earned in 2009 when taking an extra class in Web Design. After I was accepted onto the Documentary Film & Television - BA (Hons) at Newport University, starting September 2011. I spent two years there but was not satisfied with the lack of extra curricular activities and community vibe so I transferred to Aberystwyth University for a safer and more enjoyable community where I took up archery.
I got the fantastic opportunity in 2009 to fundraise with 12 other students from Yale College to go on a skill sharing college trip to South Africa and be the trip's official photographer/videographer. I fundraised £1,200 to travel to Cape Town in February 2010 by completing paid commissions for web design and illustration.
We stayed for 12 days visiting the schools to share our skills that we've developed at college and to be the first Welsh college to connect with Cape Town. I taught digital storytelling and photography. I was lucky enough to be selected to go on the trip again the following year.
In June 2011 I got the unique opportunity to visit the set of the television show Downton Abbey, by invite of Hugh Bonneville himself due to liking my tribute video on YouTube. It was a fantastic opportunity to watch and learn from professionals. In 2013 I was invited back to have work experience in the Camera Department as a Camera Assistant.
In 2014 I was accepted onto the study abroad scheme to Hong Kong Baptist University and spent 5 months in Kowloon Tong learning about Asian culture and the visual arts. When I returned to Aberystwyth I was elected as Media Officer for the university Archery Club, which involved making a website, marketing the club, photographing the competitions and coaching new members.
As well as my creative ventures I enjoy archery (3 medals), Ju-Jitsu (Black Belt 1st Dan), football (team captain when I was a child) and video gaming. In July 2015 I graduated with a BA (HONS) Film and Television Studies (1st Class) and look forward to exciting opportunities to come!
